About This Role
Director of Strategic Marketing Compensation: $129K–$175K base + up to 15% annual performance bonus Location: Nashville, TN Work Policy: 100% in office (travel ~6x per year) Relocation Assistance: Yes Stage: Enterprise healthcare supply chain organization | High-profile role | Incentive eligible
Who Are We? We are a national healthcare supply chain organization supporting one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. Our focus is improving operational performance and reducing costs across healthcare facilities by optimizing non-clinical and administrative functions. Through best-practice methodologies and cost-efficient initiatives, we help healthcare providers focus on what matters most: patient care.
This is a newly created, high-visibility role within our GPO division, built for someone who thrives in building from zero to one. You’ll help shape brand positioning, marketing strategy, and membership growth across healthcare facilities nationwide.
What’s in It for You? This is not a “maintain the machine” role. It’s a builder’s role.
You’ll have the opportunity to create annual marketing plans from scratch, define buyer personas, conduct competitive analyses, and shape the branding strategy for a growing GPO division. You’ll present directly to executive leadership, including CFO, COO, and CEO stakeholders, giving you exposure that most marketing roles never offer.
You’ll work in Tennessee — with no state income tax — and receive a competitive base salary plus up to 15% annual performance bonus tied to KPI outcomes. Relocation assistance is available.
If you’re a marketing leader who prefers execution over theory and wants ownership over strategy, messaging, and growth initiatives within healthcare supply chain, this role offers both autonomy and visibility.
What Will You Do? • Develop and execute annual marketing plans, including landscape assessments, competitive analysis, and SWOT • Build and refine personas for healthcare facility decision-makers • Lead branding initiatives for a GPO division, driving membership growth • Create executive-level presentations and strategic materials in PowerPoint • Partner cross-functionally to align messaging with business objectives • Promote solutions to healthcare facilities including ASCs, LTACs, and physician offices • Analyze industry trends within healthcare supply chain and the GPO landscape • Travel periodically (approximately six times per year) for industry engagement and stakeholder meetings • Operate as both strategist and hands-on executor — this role requires doing, not delegating
What Will You Need? • 8–10+ years of experience marketing to healthcare facilities within pharmaceutical or medical device industries (required) • Proven experience marketing to one or more of the following: ASCs, LTACs, physician offices (required) • Deep understanding of healthcare supply chain and GPO industry dynamics • Experience building marketing strategy and branding initiatives from the ground up • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop comprehensive annual marketing plans • Executive-level communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite leadership • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; experience with HubSpot and Canva preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Marketing Communications (required) • Professional presence and polished communication style • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Nashville, TN
This role is open to Associate Director, Senior Manager, or Director-level candidates who meet the required healthcare marketing experience criteria.
If you’ve spent your career marketing directly to healthcare facilities in pharma or med device and want a high-impact, visible role where you can build something meaningful from the ground up, this is that opportunity.
