Director of Facilities Management Compensation: $110K–$176K base + 17.5% Director Incentive Bonus Location: Reston, VA Work Policy: Full-time | Days (Rotating Weekends) Stage: Established acute care hospital | 230+ beds | High-acuity regional medical center

What Will You Do? Direct and oversee all functions of Engineering, Telecommunications, Security, and Biomedical Engineering. Serve as Facility Safety Officer and Co-Chair of the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, alarm systems, grounds, and infrastructure systems. Ensure full compliance with applicable codes and regulatory bodies including NFPA, state building codes, OSHA, EPA, and Joint Commission standards. Oversee emergency response readiness and remain subject to emergency call as required. Approve, assign, and audit work orders while ensuring high standards of operational execution. Lead department operations to meet quality, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals. Partner with the Chief Engineer to develop training programs and support ongoing staff development. Contribute to strategic planning, capital projects, and sustainability initiatives across the campus.

What Will You Need? At least 10 years of hospital building operations and maintenance experience. Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership and supervisory experience. Strong working knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, life safety codes, and accreditation requirements. Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams in a hospital setting. College degree preferred in architecture, engineering, construction, or related field. CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager) preferred. Membership with ASHE preferred (required within first year of hire). Ability to operate effectively in a regulated, high-accountability healthcare environment.

Requirements
