About This Role

Job Summary: The I&E Technician - Senior performs preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment, troubleshoots equipment problems, and completes unscheduled equipment repairs to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment (480 volts and below) and plant instrumentation.
  • Calibrate instruments, test interlocks, troubleshoot instrument loops, and resolve electrical issues using tools such as pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, multi-meters, meggers, communicators, and laptops for equipment communication.
  • Read and interpret plant prints and documentation to resolve equipment problems.
  • Install conduit, cable, tubing, and other necessary components to support equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in determining root causes of equipment failures.
  • Support the Maintenance Planner in developing accurate I&E work plans.
  • Specify and order materials and parts needed for I&E work.
  • Document all work performed, update procedures, work packages, and maintain accurate equipment records.
  • Maintain portable measuring and test equipment, and electrical safety equipment according to established requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and safety procedures.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; degree or certification in an I&E-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of I&E experience in an industrial processing or chemical plant environment.
  • PLC experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley or Compaq PLC systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills, attention to detail, and willingness to document work thoroughly.
  • Ability to work on-call, including off-shifts, weekends, or holidays, as needed.
  • Flexibility to perform physical tasks, including frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders/scaffolding, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely perform all essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, walk, kneel, twist, climb stairs and ladders, and enter plant equipment for inspections or data collection.
  • Communicate clearly by phone and in person.
