Overview
We are partnering with a fast-growing, innovative industrial company to identify a Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to lead safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives at a key production facility.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for building and scaling EH&S programs in a startup-style manufacturing environment. The right individual will bring both strategic leadership and hands-on execution to drive a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities Lead all EH&S programs across plant operations Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulations Drive a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Leadership teams to integrate EH&S into daily operations Manage audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting Oversee environmental compliance and emergency response planning Track and report EH&S performance metrics and KPIs
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field 10+ years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, chemical, energy, or industrial environments Proven leadership experience building or improving EH&S programs Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations Experience in high-growth or startup environments preferred Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Experience Background in chemical processing, energy, or clean technology environments Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and high-hazard operations Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH
