About the Job

One of our clients, a well-established full-service engineering, architectural, and geospatial consulting firm, is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join their team. This firm offers a wide variety of engineering services for infrastructure and building design needs, with multi-discipline personnel functioning as cohesive design teams to create local and regional utility systems, energy-efficient buildings, environmentally sensitive site developments, and safe, modern transportation infrastructure.

Structural engineers work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues on various projects, providing comprehensive technical resources for all types of private facilities and public infrastructure designs. In addition to building structural design, structural engineers support water resources engineers by providing expertise with specific structural system design of wastewater and water structures and facilities. The firm has the capability to successfully plan, design, and deliver large, complex projects as easily as smaller projects.

Education & Licensure:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with structural emphasis required; Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) preferred Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE) license with 5+ years of experience in a consulting environment designing building structures Ability to obtain additional state registrations through existing registration or comity LEED AP certification is a plus

Technical Skills:

Design skills including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and aluminum Extensive material design code knowledge Experience producing construction documents consisting of plans, sections, and details in 2D & 3D, smart structural schedules, specifications, and estimates Knowledge of current industry BIM and National CADD standards Knowledge of constructing structural Revit BIM analytical/physical models that can be round-tripped to and from structural analysis programs is a plus

Software Proficiency: BIM Modeling and drafting in Revit BricsCAD and RAM Structural Analysis/STAAD (or equivalent) expertise MicroStation experience desirable Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive)

Project Experience: Water/wastewater treatment facilities Heavy industrial projects Commercial and institutional facilities/buildings Professional Skills Project management abilities Excellent oral and written English communication skills Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members High level of organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines
