About This Role

Job Summary:

Our client, a well-established and award-winning law firm in New Orleans, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team. The Paralegal candidate will be expected to work as a team player and utilize their experience and judgment to assist with supporting the team's efforts. Candidates must show initiative, have excellent organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and be proficient with technology, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe) and other litigation software. On-the-job training will also be provided.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience. A bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, in-person attendance at the firm's office is required.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

Experience in all phases of the litigation process, particularly as it relates to construction cases Proficiency in drafting basic pleadings and motions such as Notices of Deposition, subpoenas Preparation of Witness/Exhibit Lists, Pre-Trial Inserts, and Pre-Trial Orders Experience requesting/preparing trial subpoenas (State & Federal Courts) Management of the scheduling order and deadlines therein Experience scheduling trial testimony of experts & clients Basic legal research skills using Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis Ability to show initiative, prioritize, meet deadlines, adapt to fluctuating priorities, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision Ability to navigate electronic databases and documents for organization, review, and/or summary Enthusiasm for learning and strong interpersonal skills for interaction with all firm personnel, clients, outside counsel, and vendors Demonstrated initiative, professional judgment, and proactive communication with team members Proficiency in managing and navigating matters and pleadings in Louisiana state and federal courts Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneys Ability to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing, and/or categorizing documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptionally well organized and detail-oriented Adaptable to changing priorities; flexible Ability to manage a case all the way through trial preparation/trial attendance
